Students from the University of Edinburgh constructed a small built structure on Dalmarnock Road. The project provided a colourful edge to Dalmarnock Road, and behind provided a display/discussion space and also displayed the student work from the undergraduate design projects based in Dalmarnock. The purpose was to engage local residents in a ‘fun’ conversation about futures and to allow local young members of the community to engage with university students, encouraging their participation in higher education. I worked 2/3 days a week on this projects along with 2 others, one who was the tutor who lead the design unit with the university and then several others were involved with the weekend workshops run in Dalmarnock.
